GetWireless Employees Join Forces to Help JP4
St. Paul, Minn – GetWireless employees donated over $3,000 last month to support the mission and work of the JP4 Foundation. The donation was in response to a LinkedIn post announcing the 6th Annual Johnny Price IV Memorial Golf Tournament. Johnny’s former coach, now regional sales manager at GetWireless, Joe Loftus, commented on the post and quickly turned his comment into action.
Each year, the GetWireless Leadership Team designates charitable funds for each employee to gift to a nonprofit of their choice as an employee give-back program. After seeing the LinkedIn post, Joe Loftus wrote an email from the heart asking employees to consider the JP4 Foundation as a recipient of the GetWireless giveback program.
Joe delivered the news directly to Jeff Huth, Executive Director of the JP4 Foundation. “My phone rang, and it was Joe with the great news,” said Huth. We spent the first few minutes talking about the donation and the next 20 talking about the impact Johnny had on him.” Phone calls just do not get much better than that.”
“JP’s impact on me as his coach will never be forgotten. He is someone that I miss greatly. He was a hard worker, selfless teammate, and had off the chart charisma and energy. Every time he stepped on the field he was going to compete with the biggest smile,” said Loftus. “His humor and positive demeanor were contagious to every person he passed. I am proud to support the work the JP4 Foundation is doing in his name and I’m proud to work for a company like GetWireless that cares about their employees and community.”
“The employee giveback program is representative of our founding core principles, what we refer to as the “Three C’s” – collaboration, communication, and caring, “Brian Taney, GetWireless CEO said. “Employees are encouraged to identify great organizations and make company-funded contributions, and to also share with other GetWireless Team Members so they can do the same.”
As support for the JP4 Foundation continues to grow, their program offerings do too. This summer the foundation is anticipating running five summer-long baseball camps in East Saint Paul and North Minneapolis. These camps focus on providing boys and girls with access to healthy meals, healthy relationships, and healthy activities. The JP4 Foundation hopes to expand programming to after-school settings this fall.
The JP4 Foundation will continue to work on making a positive impact in the Twin Cities Community in the upcoming years. For more information on programming or if you are interested in getting involved or participating in the annual golf tournament, contact Jeff Huth, 763-242-2125.
