SPIRE’s Generosity Sets Up JP4 Foundation to Pay It Forward

St. Paul, Minn. – Earlier this year, SPIRE Credit Union chose the JP4 Foundation as a recipient to receive part of a $250,000 donation aimed at providing aid for local organizations during the pandemic

Each of SPIRE’s 20 branches, administrative departments, senior management team, Board of Directors, and supervisory committee were asked to decide which businesses and organizations should receive donations as part of the SPIRE Gives Big initiative. Every one of SPIRE’s 300 employees helped select organizations that were important to them and their local community to receive the $250,000.

“The SPIRE GIVES BIG initiative was about the employees of SPIRE selecting and notifying key organizations that are making a huge impact in our communities,” said Abby Patterson, SPIRE Giving Coordinator, “SPIRE proudly selected JP4, and wanted to encourage them that their work matters.  We want to be alongside them during this very tough period.  SPIRE wishes JP4 continued success with the many young people they greatly impact.”

The JP4 Foundation followed in SPIRE’s footsteps and used the donation to pay it forward to organizations across the Twin Cities. Baseball themed materials were purchased to create over 150 cloth face masks for the families of Crescent Cove and HopeKids. In addition, the remaining donation was used to provide diversity and relationship building training for coaches of the JP4 summer-long baseball camps.

“SPIRE’s donation is putting the idea of being a good steward into action. This donation was from the goodness of their hearts and speaks to the core value of their organization.” Jeff Huth, Executive Director of the JP4 Foundation continued, “It just made sense for us to reinvestment back into the community. We are incredibly thankful for SPIRE’s generosity and sought to inspire others with it.”

The JP4 Foundation is striving to finish 2020 on a strong note while looking forward to expanding programming in 2021. For more information on programming or if you are interested in getting involved, please contact Jeff Huth, 763-242-2125.
